Pattern Review: It’s Always Summer

Sewing with knits is not my favorite. I always feel not quite sure of myself and my skills. But when Debbie from Sew Honey Designs put out a tester call for the It’s Always Summer dress and tunic I couldn’t resist. Her last pattern (The Debut Dress) was such a joy to sew that I couldn’t pass it up. I am so glad I did because this dress is amazing.

IMG_1341If I had found this pattern on match.com we’d already be on our 4th date, that’s how much I love it. The Charlotte Dress & Top by Bella Sunshine Designs is the perfect summer pattern. Classic, pretty, with an amazing open back, and lovely details like instructions for piping at the waist this is quickly becoming my go-to pattern of the summer. Continue reading

Friday 5: Five things I Learned from #mamamadejune

When I first thought “Hey, maybe Maggie could wear stuff I made everyday for a month.” I didn’t honestly know how it would turn out. Could I get through an entire month?
